Explaining group visibilities
When you create a group on myAO, you have the option to select from different visibilities. This article explains the visibilities in detail.
Public Group
Public groups are open for the community to join. They can be discovered on the platform and found in search. Any user can join as long as they have successfully provided their medical credentials.
Public Group (Request to join)
Request to join groups are identical to public groups except that users cannot gain access to the groups without requesting permission to join. Once a request has been made, the owner of the group can then accept or decline. After a request has been accepted, the user can now access and post within the group.
Private Group
A private group is hidden group that can only be seen by the users who were directly invited to join the group by the owner. Invitations can only be sent using the built in invitation tool that only the owner can access.
